Swingfest changes hotel

Glad to see others who want to know where they'll be paying to stay too and to know that my fears and reservations aren't crazy.  :-)   I still keep holding off on the hope that the name will be released in the next day or two.  If not, we're going to drive all the way to Miami and go to Velvet because we already know that's awesome and we're already taken the time off, expecting we were going to swingfest.  If anyone finds out where it's going to be, please clue me in.

According to the Swingfest site the event had moved BACK to the original Ramada .

That is good news! Although the new hotel seemed to have nicer rooms, that pool was tiny. I was looking at the pool party pic at SF 2008 on their site (that I took btw )and I was sure that not even 1/8 of that crowd could even begin to fit in the downtown hotel pool area...and lots of activities/events were scheduled around the pool. Ramada has 3 large pools.  

We don't know any more information than what is posted on their site but will let you know as soon as we hear back from Jason. Are there any specific questions you want answered when he does call back?

My hubby and I would like to know approx. how many people have registered if anyone knows. Our friends emailed the crew at SF and were told they won't release that info.  Now that the hotel stuff is settled and figured out, we're likely to go but part of the draw to us of this vs. a club was that there would be tons more people.  Does anyone have any idea how many people have registered or a ballpark figure? We heard thousands of people went before.  If it's anything like that, we're in for sure.

I don't know but will ask. I doubt he will be able to give an accurate figure...maybe a ballpark of how many rooms are booked when the moving dusts settles but the amount of people coming for the day and events would be difficult to put a number on. I am sure some probably canceled their hotel reservations with all the uncertainty due to the changes but we were told the rooms at the Ramada were sold out originally. He had told us before all the changes, that they had sold a large number of  passes ( couple thousand), which included a large number of Florida residents..that I would imagine may not be all staying in the hotel. I am sure the numbers will not be close to 2008 but certainly more than would attend even the largest swinger club on any given night.

 Honestly, if we did not have a group of couples(  think we had about 35cpls) that came with us in 2008 that we hung out and partied with, I would have been lost and overwhelmed with the sheer number of couples that were there-too many in my opinion! If you look at that pool pic from 2008, that is only a fraction of the people, the crowd goes on underneath that overpass into another equally crowded pool, some were at the nude beach and some at a nearby quiet spa pool. We did not attend the 2009 SF but were told that there weren't as many there as 2008 ...don't know the final count.

Hey Allie. I was talking to LVPLive and he mentioned there were quite a few film crews wandering around in 2008. Do you think that will be the case this year?

When you talk to Jason could you ask him about the rate reduction on event passes? According to his website he said there would not be discounts, but nearly all of the prices on the passes have dropped $100 or more.

SwingFest will not run any discounts on the corporate site this year. We are allowing exclusivity for lifestyle sites, travel agents, or a lifestyle friendly business, to run discounts approved by SwingFest only.

Hi all, well being part of a couple who attended all the events that Jason has put on, I will tell you this that last year Swingfest didn't even come close to the numbers that attended 2008. In fact the the Hilton Miami was not a sell out and no take over took place. The numbers were about 1000 people at best. Also, his bus tour was a flop and was cancelled. I suspect the reason why the exact numbers aren't being divulged is for the obvious reason, he needs numbers! Lots of people will be more prone to sign up this way. Nonetheless you will have a good time. Jason does put on a fairly good show once all the kinks are worked out. Unfortunately, this has been a fairly big kink! Lol. I still haven't booked my room as I am leary of all the " musical hotel play" that's going on right now but will once I hear from Jason what's going on.

Hi all getting close to the event date just wondering what the alternative plans are if the event is a bust? Maybe we should all discuss this if we are to make the weekend happen for at least all of us.

I think most of us are still planning to go (mostly because we already have purchased airline tickets) and if the hotel falls through, we'll be staying at a local vanilla resort but still making the best of things and having fun!  I know this group and as long as we all are together and have a play room we can have one hell of a great time   Some come on down!

Hey everyone... my hubby and I have finally decided to go to the club in Miami instead where we know we'll have a great time.  We kept trying to convince ourselves to put our confidence in this event.  But, between the changes and lack of good explanations and us emailing the people who put SF on and being responded to very curtly and often times, not getting a response at all, we've decided to let it go.  There was a time I thought I could convince myself to go anyway just to be with the people even if I didn't agree with the way everything was being run.  But, the truth of the matter is, I can't entrust my money to someone I can't even count on to get back to me when I am asking simple questions.  I wish we could just book it through the hotel and that would be different but since we can't, we're moving on. 

With that said, I hope all of you have a great time!  I was really looking forward to the naked pool parties and things we can't get out of a club so hopefully the hotel take over will be a success and you can all have a swing-tastic time. :-)
