Is there a good or bad time to go to Desire?

My wife and I have planed a trip to Desire Cancun. We have booked our trip for the last week of October. I wanted to know if there was a good or bad time of the year to go to Desire. Is there ever a non-swinger group that takes over the resort? Has anyone ever been in October? If so I'd love to hear how it worked out. Also, is there anywhere that is better than Desire?

Any time is a good time!  Hurricane season is a risk...if you go then, you might want to invest in travel insurance.  Not aware of non-swing takeovers..the ratio varies constantly.  No...in our opinion there is no better place.  But, Desire has become so expensive, it will take some time to save the pennies to get there. (have visited Desire Cancun 6 times...Desire Los Cabos Twice...and "Temptations" (the old Desire Los Cabos - now only topless and non-sexual) once.

The easy answer is that NO there is never a bad time to go to Desire...lol.

Ultimately, it comes down to weather.  I'm not sure what October is like but I'm sure there are places that will give seasonal averages.  We tend to like spring...April/May.  Hot, but not too hot (weather wise!!)...with a nice breeze off the ocean.  As you get into summer it definitely gets very very hot from what we've heard.  Reports from late fall, winter seem to be that the pool and such get too cold to enjoy. 

In terms of "non takeovers" our first trip there were no takeovers, so a mix of nudists, swingers, voyeurs, exhibitionists, etc.  We went with a takeover last year and had a blast.  Again, it depends on what you are looking for in your trip.

As for a good time...hmmmm...I guess I'd have to say when Swingercast is there

We will be there for our first visit during the 3rd week of October (18-25).

Haven't been to Desire yet, but we're booked for the Swingercast March 2010 event. What we've heard echoes what's already been written...there isn't a bad time, but outside of hurricane season and with a take-over is best.
